This never-ending journey is inspired by atmospheric contrasts in light, shade and colour. These themes are explored in different locations around the world, through the bold use of watercolours and oil paints. The subjects vary from moody urban street scenes to sunlit coastal landscapes.

 

I play with technique and interpretation to try and create something special. With oils I am currently enjoying the wonderful liberating experience of painting "En Plein Air". With the very different medium of watercolour, I am loading large quantities of water onto the paper and applying different pigments at different stages in the drying process to create atmosphere. 

 

Recently I have been exploring and painting in London and the South West of England along with completing a number of commissions.

I am based in my studio in Gloucestershire where there are paintings available to view by appointment. My work is also represented at White Sails Gallery, Dartmouth, Devon.
